Summary: TaxLoot uses AI to identify potential tax deductions from your financial data. The results are suggestions only — not tax advice. Always verify with a qualified tax professional before filing. By using TaxLoot, you agree to these terms.
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the TaxLoot application or website ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
TaxLoot is an AI-powered tax deduction discovery tool. You upload a bank statement (PDF) or connect a bank account via Plaid, and our AI analyzes your transactions to identify potential tax deductions based on current IRS rules and applicable tax law.
TaxLoot operates in the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. Tax rules vary by country and are updated periodically.
3. Important: AI Accuracy Disclaimer
TaxLoot uses artificial intelligence to identify potential deductions. AI systems are not perfect.
You expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- TaxLoot is not a tax advisor, CPA, enrolled agent, or tax attorney. Nothing in the Service constitutes tax, legal, financial, or professional advice.
- AI analysis may be incomplete or incorrect. The AI may miss deductions you qualify for, or identify deductions that do not apply to your specific situation. Results depend on the quality and completeness of data you provide.
- Deduction eligibility depends on your complete tax situation. Factors including your income level, filing status, other deductions, phase-out thresholds, state law, and individual circumstances affect whether a deduction applies to you.
- Tax law changes frequently. While we make reasonable efforts to keep deduction rules current, we cannot guarantee that our rules reflect the most recent IRS guidance, court decisions, or legislative changes at the time of your analysis.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your tax return. TaxLoot provides discovery and suggestions — final decisions about what to claim rest with you and your tax professional.
- Always consult a qualified tax professional (CPA, enrolled agent, tax attorney) before claiming any deduction identified by TaxLoot.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use TaxLoot. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is intended for use by individuals analyzing their own personal or business financial records. You may not use TaxLoot to analyze another person's financial data without their explicit consent.
5. Financial Data and Privacy
5.1 Data You Provide
When you upload a bank statement or connect a bank account, you grant TaxLoot a limited license to process that data for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not sell your financial data to third parties.
5.2 Bank Connection (Plaid)
Bank connections are powered by Plaid Technologies. Your banking credentials are never stored by TaxLoot. Plaid's access is read-only and limited to transaction history. Plaid's use of your data is governed by Plaid's Terms of Service.
5.3 Data Retention
Uploaded PDF statements are stored securely and encrypted at rest. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@taxloot.app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6.2 Payment Processing
Payments are processed through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Stripe. Your payment information is handled directly by these processors — TaxLoot never stores your card details.
